Star Wars has been around since 1977 in the form of a TV adaptation and long before that in the form of comics and writings. That means more than four decades of content to debate and fawn over for Star Wars Fans. 

A successful TV franchise like Star Wars has ignited generations of fans who could talk about Canon vs. Legends content, characters, adaptations, and writing all day. Not to forget the pivotal and controversial trilogies some fans love while others want the heads of the producers and screenwriters on a silver platter.  

As the universe expands, the amazing space content keeps piling up. There is a plethora of forces and non-force topics to discuss. Whether it is an online debate or an in-person heated conversation, the space fantasy fans love to go back and forth. To the point, some are ready to draw the best neopixel lightsabers to prove their force theories. 

Let’s look at five topics Star Wars fans of all demographics love to debate. 

The Best Trilogy Movies 

Star Wars trilogies have disgruntled the fans with every release. The originals are the gold standard when it comes to character development, beautiful backdrops, amazing production, and smooth transitions. The 19707-1983 Star Wars releases laid the significant groundwork for the legendary Skywalkers and the events of the Galaxy. The vintage three movies have everything from dark themes to groundbreaking climaxes and ending at a redemptive tone. 

However the later releases, Star Wars prequel, and sequel trilogies have received mixed fan reviews, they are a much-heated debate. Are the prequels better than the sequels? Why do many things don’t make sense? The sequel in particular is a combination of plots that barely add up. How did the Empire return with the first order? Snoke leading the empire without explanation is shocking, 

However, the later releases have also received a degree of praise. Especially the Last Jdi that is carrying the weight of the sequel trilogy. The Force Awakens introduces new characters and nostalgic backgrounds 

The Mysterious Force Nature

Star Wars is a billion-dollar worth of science fiction. Most of us prefer sticking to the story where Star Wars is run by a mystic force rather than a practical boring story. The force gives the individual abilities. The fictional midichlorian count indicates the sensitivity to the force. There is little explanation behind the force abilities besides the midi-chlorins. The mysterious allure is a debatable topic when it comes to liking. 

Some aspects of Star Wars movies make zero sense. Then again fans obsess over the spiritual and mystic force allure. If a scientific reason is provided that is not as interesting and enthralling, then the TV adaptation will lose several fans. 

The same goes for Anakin Skywalker, The Chosen One, who will reshape the Galaxy and Jedi influence. The prophecy stated the greatness of Anakin’s character. Was it meant to be a good greatness? Because the majestic actions were there but good? Not so much. 

Canon vs. Legends 

In 2014 LucasFilm categorized the Expanded Universe as Star Wars Legends. Some fans breathed a sigh of relief. The clear distinction between the main plotline and the extended story setting difference. That made it easy to understand the diverse characters and the vast galaxy. 

However, a few fans were enraged because years of effort in producing the stories that further enriched the main storyline were now separated. Comics, novels, video games, and series like Stories of Mara Jade and New Jedi Order are noncanonical now. On the flip side, it adds to the complexity of an already intricate space world. 

Several Legends hits like Star Wars: Rebels, and Star Wars: Ahsoka have built the reputation and quality standards. The enthusiasts are happy that some of the separate works are getting much-deserved accreditation. 

The Friendliness of Ewoks

Ewoks are the teddy bear-like species that look fluffy and friendly on the first site. Although the species have been a great help in fighting against the Empire, Ewoks are ruthless carnivores. Everything would have been glittered if the Ewoks had not tried to roast Han and Chewbacca for dinner. es

Additionally, the Ewoks paved the way to victory in the Battle of Endor by destroying the Imperial Shield Generator built in the forest. These species are the perfect example of not judging the book by its cover. 

George Lucas and Disney 

Disney’s acquisition of LucasFilms in 2019 began an era of new movies, video games, and Star Wars merch. Some of us are happy to see a new Star Wars concept and the fun parts. 

The introduction of a variety of merch like shirts and hoodies has attracted double the number of young fans.  Clever marketing campaigns and collaborations have removed the need for genuine affection. 

On the other hand, nothing compares to the vintage masterpiece that Geoge Lucas has recreated. The universe may have been widened but the slight corporate tour angered the fans. Certain enthusiasts would have loved to keep the vintage series as it is.

Star Wars is a neverending storyline whose directors love drama. They thrive on leaving us on the edge of our seats. Most of us appreciate the vintage Star Wars screening time.
